ASHLEY LOPEZ

  I fell in love with the culinary world at a very young age and with my family’s encouragement, I have now made that love into a career. I have been working in the industry since 2010 when I started at Turf Club Catering just out of high school. I have since then completed my Bachelors of Science in Culinary Management. The program exposed me to a variety of world cuisines, ingredients and techniques from around the globe. Instruction in kitchen management, purchasing, cost control, menu design, and dining room operation provided me with business acumen. I have also focused on communications, training, leadership, management, accounting, marketing, financial management, and employee relations. Since finishing my degree in 2015 I have been challenging myself in different avenues of the culinary industry. Each position I've held has pushed me to grow and gain more knowledge to better not only myself but the operations I'm in as well.

Currently I work for Morrison Living as the director of dining at Parkview Christian Retirement Community. When I came on to this position in August 2015 the dining program was failing to make profit and the resident satisfaction was at its lowest. I came in with a plan to turn things around and grow the team during the pandemic. I worked closely with my executive chef and together we turned everything around for the better. 

 I am very confident in my abilities and have many plans for my future including teaching others one day what I have learned. I feel it is extremely important to keep learning and never stop seeking knowledge.
